Carver Street Bike Lanes Coming This Fall

This fall, Carver Street will see an important upgrade: new bike lanes that will provide a safe and direct east–west connection through Traverse Heights.

The street is being cape sealed this fall to improve the condition of the pavement condition and extend its lifespan. We were excited when City brought forward the idea to install bike lanes as part of this work and we were glad to be at the table to provide feedback and encouragement as the project developed. The addition of bike lanes is being funded through the Complete Streets program, a program we strongly advocated for, and represents exactly the kind of investment it was designed to support.

Carver’s new buffered bike lanes will do more than improve one street. They will create a vital link into the Millworks redevelopment, which plans to build a connection from Carver St to the Boardman Lake Loop Trail.

This project is a clear example of how Complete Streets funding can turn community priorities into real improvements on the ground.
